Find the Right Suite For Your Explora Journeys Cruise

You’ve been searching for a holiday and have finally found your perfect luxury cruise with Explora Journeys. Get ready to enjoy an unforgettable culinary experience, wellness spas, 24-hour room service, pools, hot tubs, and many all-inclusive amenities.

Now, it’s time to choose your suite, which will depend on your travel style, who you are traveling with, where you prefer to be on the ship and how much time you expect to spend in your suite. Don’t worry, we can help you narrow down the options!

Every accommodation on Explora Journeys offers an oceanfront setting and a private terrace, so you're already off to a great start. From there, it comes down to finding the space that fits the way you want to travel.

Start With How You Plan to Use Your Suite

Picture yourself onboard the cruise. Are you envisioning coffee on the terrace after a restful night's sleep in a beautiful room? Are you eating breakfast on the go so you can spend more time outside and in restaurants, giving you separate areas to relax and dine?

Think about what will make your experience more enjoyable. If you need some ideas, here's what our clients usually tell us they consider when choosing an Explora Journeys Suite:

  • Living space needed when traveling

  • Entertainment in the suite

  • Separate areas for dining, relaxing or working

  • Number of people sharing the suite

  • Time expected to spend onboard during itinerary

Explora Journeys Ocean Suites Offer an Easy Starting Point

Explora Journeys’ Ocean Terrace Suite

As we mentioned, every suite onboard an Explora cruise has an ocean view and a private balcony. There are no inside cabins or ocean ”view” rooms.

Explora’s Ocean Suites offer generous space to unwind, floor-to-ceiling windows for natural light throughout, and a spacious sun terrace so you can feel at one with the ocean. They are among the largest in their category, with the Ocean Terrace offering 35 sqm (377 sq ft) and Explora’s Ocean Grand Terrace offering 11 sqm (118 sq ft). See our virtual walk-through here.

Some more of the features you can expect when you choose Explora’s Ocean Suites:

  • Lounge area with coffee/dining table

  • Private refrigerated mini-bar, replenished according to the guests’ preferences

  • Espresso machine, kettle and teapot with a complimentary selection of coffee and teas

  • Complimentary personal refillable water bottle for each guest

  • Pair of binoculars for guests' use during their journey

  • Spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower and heated floors (Some suites with bathtubs and accessible features)

  • Spacious ocean-front terrace with a dining area

  • Comfortable daybed for relaxation

Location on the Ship Matters Too

Now that you have envisioned yourself in each of our luxury suites, it’s time to look at where the available suites are located..

Consider how close you would like to be to lifts/elevators, restaurants, pools and the areas of the ship you expect to use most. Some travelers prefer being close to the action, while others would rather have a location that feels more removed.

This is where the Explora Journeys deck plans become especially useful, allowing you to look at the deck plan alongside the available suite numbers. This will help you visualize where your accommodation sits before you book.

Consider Who Is Traveling With You

Another option we ask our clients to consider is who is joining them on their cruise.

Some accommodation categories can sleep additional guests, while others may be better suited to two people. Connecting options, sofa beds and other configurations may also be available depending on the ship and suite.

Families and groups should look at occupancy and layout early in the planning process rather than choosing based on square footage alone.

If you have a specific sleeping arrangement, accessibility need or preference such as a bathtub, those can all be accommodated, so confirm those details with your travel advisor before completing your reservation.

Match the Space to Your Itinerary

What does your itinerary look like? This can influence how much value you place on your suite.

On a cruise with busy days in port, you may plan to spend most of your time exploring destinations and enjoying the restaurants and public spaces onboard.

A sailing with more time at sea may make a larger terrace, separate living space or additional in-suite amenities more important to you.

There is no single suite category that works for every traveler. The right choice is the one that fits how you expect to spend your time.

Decide Where You Want to Put Your Cruise Budget

A larger suite may sound nice, but it’s not necessarily the right choice for every booking.

Some of our clients would rather put more of their budget toward the itinerary, a longer sailing or other parts of the trip.

Others know that having additional living space and a larger terrace will make a meaningful difference to their time onboard.

Start with the features you will genuinely use, then compare the categories that offer them. That can make it much easier to decide where an upgrade adds value for you and where it may not.
